Hörmann showcases at FENESTRATION BAU China 2019: A nod to art and innovation

From November 5 to 8, 2019, the annual FENESTRATION BAU China ("FBC") was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

Since it was first held in 2003, FBC has been closely watched by door, window, and curtain wall manufacturers, engineering organizations, architects and designers, as well as real estate developers. The event currently sees over 600 exhibitors, and a floor space of up to 100,000 m2.

Hörmannshowcased its full product series at FBC, giving participants a visual feast for the senses by combining technology and art.Mr. Thomas Hörmann and Mr. Martin Hörmann,the third- and fourth-generation leaders of the company, respectively,also attended the exhibition.

Fire-rated doors catering to multiple needs

Fire-rated doors are the core products of Hörmann. The 3 × 3 mClass A Chinese national standard fire-rated doorfor extra wide openings,fire-rated door with Decograin surface,concealed fire-rated doorthat can be linked to the fire alarm system, steelfire-rated door with clear glass,fire-rated partition wall system,and other new products were featured.

Smart module geared toward retail points

Having expanded into retail, Hörmann demonstrated its commitment to the sector with four side hinged door models fitted with the smart module and smart  locks, which offer both a smart interior core and exterior finish.

Quick and safe industrial doors

Among all the exhibits in the industrial zone,the spiral high-speed doordrew the attention of participants. The opening and closing speed of the steel industrial door can be as fast as 2.5 m/sec. Despite being opened and closed more than2,100 timesover the four days of the exhibition, the quality and results were maintained.

The V4020 SE flexible high-speed door shown below is usually used for pathways in plants with frequent forklift traffic.

     

As safety is always the main concern for users of industrial doors, all the industrial doors presented on site are equipped with the necessary systems. When someone or something is detected under the door while it is being lowered, the door will automatically be raised to guarantee safe usage.

 

Changshu factory goes into operations

On November 8, as the exhibition was coming to an end, Hörmann's third Chinese factory officially started operations in Changshu. It will become a catalyst for Hörmann to develop markets in Eastern and Southern China, while boosting the company's productivity, quality, and response speed.

Speech during forum

On November 5, the International Green Real Estate and High-Quality Doors and Windows Curtain Development Forum on the topic "Intelligence, Energy-Saving, Empowering" was held in conjunction with the exhibition. Mr. Cai Lishan, Hörmann Southwest Region Sales Manager, was invited for the forum and spoke on the Considerations in Upgrading Spatial Components in the Digital Era.

Booth activities

Hörmann incorporated innovative interactions and promotions for the exhibition. Besides quizzes where participants could win prizes, and QR codes that provided participants with information on the products showcased when scanned, the company also livestreamed "2019FBC - Tour of Hörmann's booth," with three of Hörmann's experienced representatives explaining the showcase online.
